Scottie Scheffler won The Open Championship on Sunday after another stunning performance.

Scheffler took the lead after 36 holes at Royal Portrush and never looked back as he cruised to his fourth major championship victory.

The 30-year-old is the best player in the world at the moment, and not even Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Bryson DeChambeau are particularly close.

As the praise for Scheffler floods in after his latest achievement, perhaps the most surprising comments have come from LIV Golf.

LIV Golf congratulates Scottie Scheffler on Open Championship victory

The PGA Tour-LIV Golf rivalry has dragged on for several years now and shows few signs of a resolution coming anytime soon.

However, the official LIV Golf social media team decided to applaud Scheffler for his victory at The Open despite his allegiance to the PGA Tour.

“What a week at The Open,” an official statement read. “Our players battled hard, mounted comebacks, and showed what true grit looks like.

“Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on an impressive performance and a well-deserved win as the 2025 Open Champion.”

Elsewhere, fellow PGA Tour superstar Justin Thomas praised Scheffler for winning The Open in a less surprising turn of events.

“What an amazing experience as always here at The Open, I’m already itching for some more links golf,” he posted on Instagram.

“Congrats on yet another win for Scottie Scheffler, very very impressive stuff!”

How many LIV golfers finished in the top 10 at The Open Championship?

The major championships now have even more significance to LIV golfers because LIV events do not return any Official World Golf Ranking or Ryder Cup qualification points.

And, with the Open Championship at Royal Portrush being the last major of the 2025 season, several players needed to put in a big performance.

Well, Bryson DeChambeau was the only one to deliver, despite carding a terrible seven-over-par 78 in the first round.

DeChambeau rallied hard from Friday to Sunday to climb into the top 10 on the leaderboard. He was even better than Scheffler when you exclude his nightmare first 18 holes.

Tyrrell Hatton (T16) and Jon Rahm (T34) had underwhelming weeks at The Open, while Joaquin Niemann and Cameron Smith both missed the cut.
