The world of golf is an up and down place right now as the continued rumbles around what LIV and the PGA Tour will do remain constant.
As yet, nothing has been sorted with the two rival tours and despite Jay Monahan playing in the Dunhill Links with his LIV counterpart Yasser Al-Rumayyan, a deal seems no closer.
Indeed, Rory McIlroy has spoken about the certain roadblocks in the way of a deal being done and for now, that means LIV will exist alone for the time being.
Of course, while the financial benefits of being on LIV are there for all to see and Lucas Herbert has lauded the schedule on LIV, there remains issues when it comes to world ranking points.
The OWGR does not count LIV events towards its points system and subsequently, players can miss out on majors and big tournaments, like Ryder Cups.
And in a further blow for LIV Golf this weekend, the man seen as their last man standing in the OWGR top ten, Bryson DeChambeau, has now dropped as well.

Bryson DeChambeau falls out of world top ten as LIV issues laid bare
DeChambeau was holding onto a top ten spot thanks to his win at the US Open earlier in 2024.
However, while he has been successful on LIV and also did well in the PGA at Valhalla, DeChambeau’s lack of points have now seen him out of the top ten.
All of the top ten players are now PGA Tour players, with Tommy Fleetwood moving up in place of DeChambeau to complete the ten for now.
Of course, DeChambeau’s only way for now is down until 2025.
From there, he’ll have the chance to defend his US Open title while he’ll fancy himself in the other majors as well.

Eventually, LIV are going to have to sort something when it comes to the OWGR.
The players themselves may play it down but ultimately, it does impact them, so a resolution is needed.
