LeBron James has gained legendary status thanks to his NBA efforts, but the American continued his affection for golf at the Tour Championship.
James congratulated Tommy Fleetwood after he emerged victorious at East Lake, securing his first PGA Tour win in the process.
Fleetwood was congratulated by Tiger Woods too as the messages poured in for the popular Englishman in the aftermath of his Tour Championship success.
He won by three shots as the FedExCup Playoffs concluded, seeing off both Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay.
Justin Rose won the first of the three events at the St. Jude Championship, with Scottie Scheffler having won the BMW Championship.

LeBron James invited to play at the Genesis Invitational
Playing in both of those tournaments was Michael Kim, who finished T59 and 10 respectively before narrowly missing out on a spot at the Tour Championship.
But he was active on social media as Fleetwood chased down the title at East Lake, replying to a post from basketball icon James that read: “What a start so far by Fleetwood! Feels like today is the day.”
Quoting the post, Kim commented: “Hey LeBron, there’s a tournament called the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club.
“You can play with Scottie, Fleetwood or whoever you’d like in the Wednesday Pro Am! It’s a lot of fun. It’s during a home stint and you don’t have a game that day. Feel free to come out!”
What were Tommy Fleetwood’s stats from his Tour Championship win?
James really embodied most golf fans watching the final round of the Tour Championship, desperately hoping Fleetwood would finally get over the line.
Fleetwood has come agonisingly close to success on many occasions throughout his career, particularly in the 2025 season.

And he’s now finally put his nightmares behind him, remarkably winning the Tour Championship, FedExCup and $10million.
It was Fleetwood’s 164th start on the PGA Tour, from which he has six runner-up finishes and six third place finishes.
While such near misses will have been heartbreaking, they importantly didn’t deter his ability to finally come out on top.
He therefore deserves huge praise for his grit and determination, along with his superb display at East Lake, particularly with the putter.
