LeBron James reacts as Tommy Fleetwood wins for the first ever time on the PGA Tour

Tommy Fleetwood finally won his first PGA Tour event at the Tour Championship on Sunday evening.

Fleetwood had never tasted victory in the United States despite enjoying success in Europe and establishing himself as a top-10 player in the world.

Thankfully, he ended his drought at East Lake by beating Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley by three strokes to lift the FedEx Cup trophy.

The Englishman is one of the most popular golfers on the PGA Tour, so everyone watching was pleased to see him win, even NBA superstar LeBron James.

LeBron James reacts to Tommy Fleetwood’s win at the Tour Championship

LeBron James has recently taken up golf as one of his hobbies outside of basketball, and judging by his social media posts, he thoroughly enjoys watching it too.

James tweeted several times throughout the final round of the Tour Championship, including when Fleetwood secured his victory on the 18th green.

“Congrats and (salute) Tommy Fleetwood!!! That first one feeling is something else! Especially after dealing with adversity and shortcomings. Too (fire),” he posted.

The face of women’s basketball, Caitlin Clark, was also rooting for Fleetwood to win the Tour Championship on Sunday.

She commented, “This has to be Fleetwood’s day,” before the final round, and added, “Awesome. Sports rock,” afterwards.

Peter Finch and Grant Horvat send messages to Tommy Fleetwood

YouTube golfers Peter Finch and Grant Horvat also congratulated Fleetwood on his well-deserved victory at the Tour Championship.

“How good was that!!! Huge congratulations to Tommy Fleetwood on an incredible win at the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup,” Finch reacted.

“What a moment for him and for European golf! After playing at East Lake this week, honestly, I can’t emphasise enough just how good these players are to shoot the scores they do around there. It’s a different level.

“But what did you make of the new format for the end of the PGA Tour season? Would you change things, or keep them the same? Either way, just absolutely delighted for Tommy.”

Horvat recently filmed a video with Fleetwood, so he can attest to the 34-year-old’s reputation as a great person.

“Gosh, Tommy winning fires me up. The nicest guy,” Horvat said after watching him finally win on the PGA Tour.
