The PGA Tour and LIV Golf have continued their tussle into the 2025 season, although a reunion is seemingly closer than ever.
Tom McKibbin made his LIV Golf debut in Riyadh last week, having been the highest-profile player to make the switch from the PGA Tour this year.
McKibbin had just earned his PGA Tour card, but has opted to link up with fellow former PGA Tour member Jon Rahm at Legion XIII.
The Genesis Invitational is now next up on the PGA Tour, where world number one Scottie Scheffler is playing, with LIV Golf heading to Adelaide.
TGL has also emerged amid the ongoing debate between the PGA Tour and LIV, with Tiger Woods among the players taking part in the indoor tournament based in Florida.

Kevin Kisner unsure if Dustin Johnson is ‘world-class’ as he suggests who PGA Tour is missing
It only features PGA Tour players, but LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau is open to playing TGL, which also features Rory McIlroy.
Another player involved is Kevin Kisner, who was asked on the ForePlay Podcast if the tour is close to a reunion, after it was positioned to him that it would be positive.
“Who are we missing?” replied Kisner. “How many players are we missing? Four, maybe? Is that what is really holding us back? Is it Jon Rahm not playing with Rory McIlroy? I don’t know.
“I think the way the tour is shaping up, there is going to be way more turnover than there has ever been. Because we are going to fewer cards and you are getting more DP World Tour and Korn Ferry access.
“I think the household names you are going to start to see drop off. And adding Jon Rahm back or Brooks Koepka, I don’t even know if DJ (Dustin Johnson) is a world-class player any more. As little as I see his name. I just don’t think that is what we are missing.
“I don’t know that the tour is moving in a direction… they are going to have more turnover. If you have 100 cards, Rickie Fowler or Jordan Spieth lose their card in two of the last three years or something like that.
“That is not an exact stat, but if you really start looking into it it is like man you have to be really good to be on this tour and every kid that I watch that comes out is 25 years old, hits it 350 in the air, and makes putts now.
“They are going to start taking some of these household names’ jobs and we need to do a better job of boosting some of these younger kids up so we are excited to go and watch them play.”
How has Dustin Johnson performed since move from PGA Tour to LIV Golf?
A 24-time PGA Tour champion, Johnson currently captains 4Aces GC on LIV Golf, having finished T44 in the 2025 season opener in Riyadh.
The American finished 14th in the individual championship in 2024 and fifth in 2023, having won the individual title upon joining LIV in June 2022.

Before his high-profile switch, Johnson recorded a victory in 15 of his 16 seasons on the PGA Tour, with his honours list including the 2016 US Open and 2020 Masters.
The former world number one took part in all four major championships in 2024, but missed the cut in the two events that he won once upon a time.
In between missing the cut at the Masters and US Open, Johnson finished T43 at the PGA Championship, before finishing T31 at The Open Championship.
