It is probably fair to say that LIV Golf has never had a more underwhelming off-season than the months leading into 2025, with no marquee signings made ahead of their fourth campaign.
In previous years, LIV Golf have boasted at least one superstar signing heading into each campaign. However, most of their additions ahead of 2025 are younger players who, LIV will hope, will have the potential to take the mantle from some of their ageing stars in the years to come.
Ultimately, it is hard to know whether to read too much into LIV Golf Riyadh. The event was played under the lights, while Pat Perez hinted the greens were not good enough as several players struggled over short putts across the three rounds.
Nevertheless, it may be a little troubling when LIV look at how each of their signings performed, with only a couple of bright displays from the new faces, while perhaps their most controversial signing had another week to forget in Saudi Arabia.
How each LIV Golf off-season signing performed in Riyadh
T52nd – Branden Grace
Stinger really needed Branden Grace to prove a point in Saudi Arabia. It was farcical to see Grace re-signed by Stinger after he was ‘relegated’ in 2024 and did not earn his place for 2025.
Unfortunately, just one player finished on a worse score than the South African, who posted an eight on the par five 13th during the final round.

T49th – Yubin Jang
It was a really strange debut for Yubin Jang. He made 17 pars and one birdie in his first round, while that consistency completely deserted him over the next two days. He would make nine birdies and 10 bogeys across rounds two and three.
He would finish tied with Anthony Kim on even par for the week.
T40th – Lee Chieh-po
Unlike Grace, Lee Chieh-po did actually earn his place on LIV through the Promotions event over the winter. Despite that, the Taiwanese player missed out on being picked up by a team for this year.
It was an unspectacular week for Lee, who posted one round of two under par and two rounds of one under par.
T33rd – Frederik Kjettrup
It was a successful week for Cleeks, with Adrian Meronk winning the individual title. It was also a reasonably encouraging debut for teammate Frederik Kjettrup, with the Dane bouncing back from a one over par opening round to finish the tournament on five under par.
T33rd – Luis Masaveu
Like Kjettrup, Luis Masaveu did well on his LIV Golf bow. He finished two shots clear of teammate Abraham Ancer as Fireballs finished fifth in the team standings.
T30th – Ollie Schniederjans
Ollie Schniederjans is a reserve player for 2025, and he got an immediate opportunity to make an appearance due to Phil Mickelson‘s injury.
His six under par performance could have been even better had he not played the 18th hole in two over par over the week.
T15th – Ben Campbell
Ben Campbell played his part in a very impressive showing for RangeGoats. He was tied with Matthew Wolff, while Bubba Watson was one shot ahead of the pair.
They ended up finishing tied for second in the team standings.
T15th – Tom McKibbin
Tom McKibbin‘s surprise move to LIV is already starting to be vindicated, with Legion XIII strolling to the team title on 50 under par for the week.
McKibbin actually finished the lowest of the Legion quartet, with the Northern Irishman failing to break par on Saturday. But his seven under par opening round could perhaps be a sign of what is to come over the coming months.
