Keegan Bradley is a huge fan of Scottie Scheffler, and why wouldn’t he be?

Scheffler will play a key role for Bradley‘s US team at the Ryder Cup later this month and the world number one is beginning his preparations this week at the Procore Championship.

During the Tour Championship last month, Bradley raved about Scheffler as a golfer and a human being.

The 29-year-old from Dallas, Texas, is respected just as much as a person as he is an exceptional golfer, and that says a lot about him.

Bradley has already praised Scheffler for his attitude ahead of the Ryder Cup, and he’s been mixing with his star man in Napa this week ahead of the Procore Championship.

Scheffler played a practice round with Russell Henley and J.J. Spaun on Tuesday, as Ryder Cup preparations continue to ramp up.

Now Bradley has opened up on an observation he made on Scheffler during Tuesday’s practice round.

Keegan Bradley makes comment about Scottie Scheffler at the Procore Championship

Bradley addressed the media on Wednesday, and unsurprisingly, the topic of conversation quickly turned to the Ryder Cup.

Scheffler will be Team USA’s talisman out on the golf course due to his sheer brilliance and he will be expected to lead by example.

Bradley was asked to describe the energy that Scheffler has brought to the US team room so far.

He said: To be honest with you, the more I’m around Scottie, the more I’m impressed with who he is. We all know what a generational talent player Scottie is, but when you see Scottie around our guys, around the rookies, the willingness of him to do literally whatever it takes for us to win the Ryder Cup. And when your best player is doing that, you know, the rest of your team is going to fall in line of his lead.

I think what’s most impressive about Scottie is just the person that he is. When you see the way he plays golf, you’re amazed, but then when you speak to him and you’re around him and you watch him from afar and you watch him with his family and you see his interaction with the younger players and the caddies, you really have — I admire him, I look up to Scottie. I’m not afraid to say that. He does a lot of things right. Shows up on the golf course, shows up in the team room, and obviously he’ll be a big part of our team at Bethpage.

It was then put to Bradley that there is a lot of pressure on Scheffler’s shoulders heading into Bethpage.

The Ryder Cup captain said: I think anytime — I was out there following Scottie in the pro-am today and I was thinking — said to my coach, I was like what a weird thing, there’s a better chance he’s going to win this week than not. So he tees it up every week know that, like he’s going to go through some serious pressure no matter what.

I think that is part of the Ryder Cup, when you’re the best player on their team, when you’re Rory or you’re Tiger or Phil or whoever, you carry a big burden for your team. I think that happens with Michael Jordan, Tom Brady. You know, these guys are built for it. Like I think that they, in a sick way they look forward to it, they want that pressure. And not everyone wants that. People can say they do, but not everyone wants it. Scottie, I think he would hope that it comes down to him in singles. I bet he like, dreams about it. That kind of separates Scottie from the rest of the guys.

Scottie Scheffler’s incredible PGA Tour win percentage

Scheffler boasts a truly staggering win percentage.

He has won 18 times in 149 PGA Tour starts, so he has won 12.1% of the tournaments he has played throughout his career so far.

In the world of professional golf, that is a truly outstanding number.

His percentage of 12.1% puts him behind only six men on the all time list.

Player nameWin %
Tiger Woods22.8%
Ben Hogan21.3 %
Byron Nelson18.1%
Sam Snead14.0%
Henry Picard12.9%
Jack Nicklaus12.2%
Scottie Scheffler12.1%

The 29-year-old world number one golfer is keeping quite the company right there.

Bradley is right: Scheffler is expected to win every single time he tees it up, and that comes with added pressure.

However, that is exactly what a player of Scheffler’s calibre thrives upon.
