Keegan Bradley goes into 2025 with his biggest year as a professional golfer looming thanks to his surprise captaincy award for the Ryder Cup.

Bradley was a surprise pick as Team USA captain but with the dust firmly settled on that initial decision, Bradley is now focussing on his own golf.

Of course, Bradley could make the team himself as a playing captain and he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of him undertaking that role.

But for now, his focus is on playing well enough to be in automatic contention and over in Hawaii at The Sentry, Bradley is making a good fist of things.

Still, that doesn’t mean the Ryder Cup isn’t firmly on his mind.

Keegan Bradley makes stark admission about his Ryder Cup dreams

Speaking at The Sentry to the media, Bradley was asked about his focus on playing and the upcoming Ryder Cup in September.

And making a telling admission, Bradley joked that he has been having some rather odd dreams about the event at Bethpage Black.

“I’m thinking, like, I had a dream last night, a Ryder Cup dream last night. I just have ’em all the time,” Bradley said.

“I’m dreaming about – well, one, I can’t get to the course, like one of those, and I’m like stressed out – but I dream about being at Bethpage a lot. It’s constantly on my mind.”

What Keegan Bradley has said about playing in the Ryder Cup

With so much to talk about already for Team USA – including the decision to pay the players – Keegan Bradley faces a big tournament as captain.

Bradley has revealed his payment will go to charity which gets one monkey off his back with the media but away from that, he needs to decide if he’s going to make a run at playing or let another 12 do the business.

Bradley has said he’s picked vice-captains who can step in for him if needed but Bradley has also said he’d love to be a playing captain as well.

“Well, I know the people that elected me to be the Ryder Cup captain didn’t feel that way. They made that clear to me. Not that I really cared what they think. I’m proud to be the Ryder Cup captain,” Bradley explained.

“I would love to be a playing captain. I know it’s never — no one has really had the opportunity that I’ve had. I think you could have given Phil or Tiger a chance to be captain at my age, and they would have played on the teams. But it’s never really had a chance to happen. It’s going to be really hard for me to make that team, but if I make the team, I’ll play.”

As it stands, it’s very much a case of wait and see but Keegan Bradley could well play himself into the team in 2025.
