As the 2024 Presidents Cup edges closer, Keegan Bradley has praised one USA star who has come under fire in recent weeks.

The 2025 Ryder Cup captain was named as one of Jim Furyk’s picks after winning the BMW Championship during the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Max Homa was also named, and Furyk’s decision to name Homa has come under fire. The 33-year-old has struggled with his driver toward the back end of the PGA Tour season.

Homa also missed the cut at the Procore Championship in a last-ditch attempt to find form ahead of the event against Mike Weir’s International side at Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Bradley, however, insists that Homa is the ideal man to have in a match-play scenario.

Speaking during a short YouTube clip, Bradley praised Homa’s match-play record ahead of the event at Royal Montreal Golf Club.

“Max fits the mould of a match-play player,” Bradley explained.

“He’s able to excite the crowd, excite his partner, excite his team and those are attributes you really want on a Presidents Cup team.”

Given the scrutiny directed at Homa, the American will need to perform when Thursday’s matches begin.

Homa’s match-play record is particularly impressive. During the 2023 Ryder Cup – his rookie year – Homa won three matches, drew one and lost one.

Furthermore, during his first Presidents Cup display, the American went 4-0-0, as the USA retained the trophy at Quail Hollow.

Clearly, Homa enjoys the format, and if he can find form, he will be a massive weapon for Furyk to utilise over the weekend.

However, with Royal Montreal set to provide a narrow test, Homa will need to find some consistency off the tee if he’s to continue his remarkable match-play record.
