Keegan Bradley has just one LIV golfer on his Ryder Cup team this year in the form of Bryson DeChambeau.
Incredibly, DeChambeau qualified for the US Ryder Cup team from just eight events played – something that Bradley described as ‘unheard of’.
DeChambeau will be a key player for the Americans at Bethpage Black, thanks to his explosive power and enormous length off the tee.
LIV Golf star DeChambeau has told his Ryder Cup teammates he is gutted that he’s not playing the Procore Championship with them this week.
However, he will be fully aware that his move to LIV Golf back in 2022 would have consequences somewhere down the line.
That said, just because he’s not playing in Napa doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been involved with the US team this week.
DeChambeau was at Cypress Point watching the Walker Cup last week, so we know for a fact that he’s on the west coast of America and has joined the US team for dinners and meetings.
Keegan Bradley comments on Bryson DeChambeau’s attitude ahead of the Ryder Cup
DeChambeau has proven over the past two years that he is one of the best players in the world.
It’s such a huge shame that we, as fans, don’t get to see him compete against the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy outside of the majors.
At least we’ll see him compete in the biggest team event of them all – the Ryder Cup.

And he has been making a big impression in the US team room already it seems.
Bradley was asked what he thinks it must be like for DeChambeau this week having to watch on as his Ryder Cup teammates play in the Procore Championship.
The Ryder Cup captain responded by saying: “Yeah, in the golf world right now we’re in an awkward spot with where we sit in the golf world.
“A lot of that responsibility has fallen on Bryson. He has to make a much bigger effort than a lot of the guys. Bryson was there last night. He’s been incredible. He’s been more than willing to go above and beyond for this team. I think it’s a testament to what a good teammate Bryson is.
“I think it’s actually really cool to see, for the guys to see — it’s easy for the guys to come play here and come to dinner. Bryson’s got to get on a plane, he’s got to come to these meetings and I think it’s a great thing, shows the commitment in that Bryson has for the team. He’s going to be a huge asset for us. Obviously from the standpoint of how good of a player he is, but also he’s fun to be around, he’s great to the younger guys. It’s fun for us to see Bryson in an atmosphere outside the golf course as well.“
Who Bryson DeChambeau could partner at the Ryder Cup
DeChambeau has had success in the past at the Ryder Cup when playing alongside Scottie Scheffler.
However, the general consensus is that Scheffler will partner either Russell Henley or J.J. Spaun at Bethpage Black.
According to Dan Rapaport, the man to pair up with DeChambeau could be Cameron Young.
“I think we go Bryson and Cam Young, just do that in best ball, just the bombers. Have two guys who fly it 330,” he said.
“I think Collin and JT, Collin is a guy who could play with Henley I’m thinking maybe. Collin could play with Harris English. But I think the most solid teams are Scheffler and Burns, Schauffele and Cantlay, JT and Collin, Bryson and Cam Young, and then the dog team of Russell Henley and Harris English.”
DeChambeau and Young would certainly make a formidable fourball partnership and at the very least, they would both be hugely exciting to watch at Bethpage!
