Justin Thomas is currently on one of the most surprising winless runs on the PGA Tour, and he’s fed up with it.
The two-time major champion has not won any event since his second PGA Championship victory in May 2022.
He now has an excellent opportunity to turn his fortunes around at the RBC Heritage this week after equalling the course record on Thursday.
Thomas gave an honest response when asked what’s been holding him back from winning again after his second round at Hilton Head.

Justin Thomas says why he’s not won a PGA Tour event in nearly three years
Thomas hasn’t been in a better position to secure another PGA Tour victory in quite some time. After 36 holes, he has a two-shot lead over Si Woo Kim and Russell Henley.
Even though there’s still a long way to go, he’s now expected to get over the line and end his almost three-year drought.
And nobody wants Thomas to lift the RBC Heritage more than himself, as he’s clearly felt under pressure in recent times.
He recognised in his post-round interview on Friday that he’s previously tried too hard because he wants to win “so bad,” and will try to avoid that mistake this weekend.
“I’d say the majority of it has just been pressing and trying too hard,” Thomas admitted. “It’s so… I mean, all of us, I would assume, want to win so bad, and I want to win so bad.
“I’m sick of getting asked. I almost feel like I’m kind of past the point where, fortunately, you all have stopped asking me, which is nice, but I would also prefer to get that over with.
“I think it’s just that’s something I feel like I did so, so well there for a couple of years, is I just let tournaments come to me and I just trusted in my ability. That’s just really been my key this week is I’m just trying to really trust my game and commit to what I’m doing.
“I have a lot of faith and confidence in what I can do. So I just need to let it happen.”

Justin Thomas can almost guarantee Ryder Cup place with RBC Heritage victory
Despite not winning for so long, Thomas finds himself in a strong position to make the United States Ryder Cup team later this year.
The top six in the standings will automatically qualify for Bethpage, and then, captain Keegan Bradley will pick six more players to take on Europe.
Thomas is currently in ninth position, not too far behind sixth-place Maverick McNealy, so a win at the RBC Heritage would almost certainly be enough to climb above him.
Plus, with Thomas already having a reputation as a team event specialist, a victory would probably ensure he receives a captain’s pick if he doesn’t qualify.
