Justin Thomas hasn’t had his best PGA Tour season, but remains in high spirits ahead of the BMW Championship.

Thomas says other players know he is playing well, but results just have not gone the American’s way in 2024 so far.

He has five top-10 finishes this season, with no titles to his name, while Thomas missed the cut at the Masters and the US Open.

Thomas just played a practice round at Castle Pines, with the 31-year-old now at the Colorado course for the BMW Championship.

He sits 22nd in the FedExCup points list, having finished T30 at the first playoff event at the St Jude Championship in Memphis.

Justin Thomas predicts BMW Championship winning score

Hideki Matsuyama emerged victorious at TPC Southwind in Memphis, finishing on 17 under to win by two shots.

Thomas has now given it his best shot to predict the winning score at Castle Pines, saying in his BMW Championship press conference: “I’m absolutely terrible at that.

“If I had to guess, I would guess, like most events, it would be 15- to 20-under, the fairways are pretty receptive. They’re generous. A lot of less-than-drivers.

“But I also thought 6-under was going to win Medinah, and I think I shot 24 or 25. As I said, I’m pretty terrible at guessing. All I know is I hope whatever I shoot is the winning score.”

What will the winning score be at the BMW Championship?

Viktor Hovland won the BMW Championship title in 2023 as he shot 17 under at Olympia Fields North Course.

Thomas is well in the FedExCup Playoffs mix this year, having agonisingly missed out on extending his season in 2023.

The American ended the regular season in 71st position, just one stroke away from a place in the playoffs.

He will now be using that heartache to climb the points list at the BMW Championship, with the top 30 players reaching the Tour Championship.

Atlanta’s East Lake will host the final playoff event, but Thomas and his counterparts must first make their way through the challenges that Castle Pines has to offer.
