Just as Jordan Spieth was starting to trend in the right direction, he got hit with a really untimely injury at the Travelers Championship.
Spieth just can’t catch a break right now can he?
The 31-year-old felt something in his upper back and neck area during his warmup before the Travelers Championship began on Thursday.
Before the Travelers began, Spieth discussed how well he played at the US Open, aside from one double bogey and a triple.
The three-time major champion still has huge ambition to win and return to the player he once was.

Spieth suggested that he can become the world number once again at some point in the near future.
However, he is a long way away from that level right now, and the injury he picked up at TPC River Highlands certainly won’t help his cause.
Jordan Spieth issues statement after withdrawing from the Travelers Championship
Spieth was struggling from the very first hole on Thursday, and he probably should have called it a day sooner.
You could see how much withdrawing from a tournament hurt him, when he went over to his playing partner, Luke Canton, to apologize.
It was the first time he had ever withdrawn from a tournament in 299 starts.

So he obviously didn’t take his decision to pull out of the Travelers Championship lightly whatsoever.
Spieth took to his X account on Thursday evening, and released a statement.
He said: “During warmup, my right scap (scapula) tightened and despite trying to push through, pain spread to my neck and upper back. By 13 tee, I realized I had to stop. I’ve never had to WD before, and hate that it happened at The Travelers Championship – tournament I love. Thanks everyone for the support!“
Jordan Spieth’s marginal gains in 2025
Spieth has four top-10s to his name in 15 starts this season.
He has only missed two cuts and has definitely shown huge signs of improvement.
The Dallas native has driven the ball exceptionally well yet again this season, but his putting continues to hold him back.
If he manages to sort out his poor play on the greens, he will be well on his way to winning again.
However, Spieth’s injury that he sustained at the Travelers Championship will be a real setback to him at just the wrong time.
