Jordan Spieth has made a positive start to his Players Championship title pursuit, which is now heading into round two at TPC Sawgrass.
Spieth says his wrist ‘feels really good’ after round one of the Players Championship, having been plagued by the issue for some time.
The American underwent surgery on his wrist injury in August 2024, with the injury having dated back to May 2023.
Spieth is now T31 at the 2025 Players Championship, having carded a two-under 70 at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.
He is just four shots off the lead heading into Friday’s second round, with Lucas Glover, J. J. Spaun and Camilo Villegas tied for first on six-under.

Jordan Spieth posts multiple eagles at the Players Championship for first time ever
But Spieth should be very confident of rising the leaderboard after making career history at the Ponte Vedra Beach course.
As per Justin Ray, the 13-time PGA Tour winner just secured his first career round at the Players Championship with multiple eagles.
The three-time major champion finished his round with two eagles; one on the par-five 11th and one on the par-five 16th.
Chandler Phillips makes Players Championship history at TPC Sawgrass
Spieth will be hugely proud and satisfied with his efforts, particularly given both the challenges at TPC Sawgrass and his wrist injury.
It is too soon to tell, but 2025 could be the start of a new lease of life for the American, who has been impressing so far this season.
He already boasts two top-10 finishes from his four starts on the PGA Tour, with three out of four cuts made.
Now is certainly the time to build on that momentum at TPC Sawgrass, where he should be doing his utmost to keep the leading pack in sight.
But he isn’t the only player to have impressed on the eagle front in round one, with his fellow American Chandler Phillips also catching the eye in that regard, remarkably on his tournament debut.
He carded three eagles en route to a four-under 68, becoming the first player on record to make three eagles in a round at the Players Championship, as per the PGA Tour website.
