The Presidents Cup will soon take centre stage as Jim Furyk and Mike Weir get set to name their six captain’s picks.
Six players were confirmed for the USA Team upon the conclusion of the BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club in Denver, with Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele the standout names.
A further six were confirmed for the International side, including Hideki Matsuyama, Tom Kim and Adam Scott.
Now, attention will turn to Furyk and Weir, and the American skipper has several big calls to make before the September event in Montreal.

Those who sit just outside the top six include Sam Burns, Russell Henley and the PGA Tour’s most recent winner, Keegan Bradley.
Smylie Kaufman, however, believes PGA Tour youngster Nick Dunlap should feature at Royal Montreal Golf Club.
“Nick Dunlap [wildcard pick]. He didn’t help himself on Sunday [BMW Championship], shooting five over. He was on his way to play his way to East Lake. I think maybe if he shoots three or four under, he will have an opportunity to play his way here. I really felt like if he made it to the Tour Championship, that there was a good chance he got picked,” Kaufman explained.
He added: “He’s very much on the outside looking in and looking at the standings; he’s not even in the top 25. He hasn’t had major success, but he’s had some good success over the last 16 months.”
Dunlap couldn’t improve his FedEx Cup ranking at the BMW Championship and finished 19 spots outside the top 30.
Jim Furyk also has Keegan Bradley decision to make
Furyk also has a decision to make regarding Bradley. The 2025 USA Ryder Cup captain burst back into form at the BMW Championship and is now firmly in contention heading into the season-ending finale at East Lake.
However, given the 38-year-old has endured a tough season thus far, it will be interesting to see how Furyk handles the situation. Several players have performed more consistently throughout 2024 and are deserving of a place.
Perhaps the US captain will wait until the season-ending Tour Championship has played out to finally decide on Bradley’s participation.
Another top-five finish or FedEx Cup crown for Bradley would make the decision a foregone conclusion.
