13-time PGA Tour winner Jason Day has claimed Scottie Scheffler makes one “very” challenging aspect of the game look incredibly easy.

It’s been a remarkable start to 2024 for Scheffler, who has picked up victories at The Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, The Masters and the RBC Heritage.

Ahead of this month’s trip to Valhalla for the PGA Championship, it’s hard to look past the 27-year-old landing another major title.

For Day, 2024 has been solid thus far. The Aussie tied sixth at the AT&T at Pebble Beach and finished ninth at The Genisis Invitational.

Furthermore, the 36-year-old also made the cut at The Masters, finishing five over at Augusta, a more than respectable finish.

Day has been competing in The CJ Cup Byron Nelson this week and just made the cut on six under par.

The one-time major champion picked up the 2023 title at TPC Craig Ranch and was asked about how hard it was to land his first victory in five years.

In response, Day highlighted Scheffler’s ability to make wins look “easy” to come by.

He explained [via TenGolf]: “We live week to week. A person wins and then we are talking about the next guy that wins.

“Once the week happened, it was nice to be able to finally get that win after five years, but my mindset was quickly onto the next tournament.

“It’s unfortunate because wins – especially these days – with how tough it is. Some guys make it look easy, like Scottie, but it’s very hard to come by those wins.”

LIV Golf star now poses the biggest threat to Scottie Scheffler ahead PGA Championship

Day is right about Scheffler; he’s making winning on the PGA Tour look incredibly simple. Some tour pros go their whole career without properly threatening the leaderboard.

Scheffler is the overwhelming favourite heading to Valhalla, and it’s hard to look past the two-time Masters champion from landing his third major.

Right now, one of the elite players will have to step up. And there’s an obvious candidate currently starring in the LIV Golf League.

Brooks Koepka has consistently reiterated his intention to reach peak performance for major season, and he’s doing precisely that. Koepka currently leads LIV’s Singapore tournament on 12 under after a brilliant seven-under 64 on Friday at Sentosa Golf Club.

He’s clearly peaking at just the right time and, when at his best, is more than capable of competing with Scheffler. This could well be a rivalry to keep a close eye on at Valhalla.
