Jason Day’s form from 2014 to 2016 will go down as one of the hottest streaks professional golf has seen.

The Aussie won five times during the 2014/15 season, including a major championship triumph at Whistling Straights. The following season, Day would win three more times, adding the Players Championship title to his resume.

Injury cut short Day’s stint as the world’s best golfer, and the 37-year-old has admitted he perhaps pushed his body too far during his red-hot years. Day is now through his injury issues and preparing ahead of the 2025 PGA Tour season, which starts in January.

Day recently spoke to journalist Dan Rapaport about his prospects moving forward. Interestingly, the Aussie revealed he would rather win multiple PGA Tour events than one major championship.

Rapaport: “Seven more tour wins or one more major?”

Day: “Seven more tour wins.” Rapaport replied: “That’s going to be an unpopular answer.”

Day added: “20 wins is great and shows you’ve been consistent and great over a long period of time. I value consistency over a long period of time than a short little spurt of brilliance.”

Jason Day 2024 PGA Tour record

Day’s PGA Tour form in 2024 has been solid. The highlight of the Aussie’s season came during the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow, where he finished tied for fourth.

The PGA Championship returns to Charlotte in 2025, and the Aussie will fancy his chances of continuing his impressive recent form at the venue.

Another highlight for Day came at the Olympics, where he finished inside the top ten at Le Golf National. Unfortunately, the Aussie’s season ended prematurely after he failed to qualify for the Tour Championship at East Lake. Day will now be hoping to kick on compete on a more frequent basis when the 2025 season begins at the Sentry in January.
