The Waste Management Open in Phoenix has been and gone for another year and it’s safe to say it divided opinion this time around.
With weather delays and other off-course matters affecting the play, things descended into chaos a tad over the weekend, with Saturday in particular bringing some unsavoury scenes.
As the tournament progressed into Sunday, a number of golfers seemed to lose their patience with some of the so-called supporters.
Billy Horschel had a bit of a go, while Zach Johnson was caught on camera telling fans to simply shut up.
And speaking after the tournament had finished, Johnson then went into further detail about why he might not come back to the WM Open in the future.

Zach Johnson left fuming with Waste Management Open experience
In a full interview with journalist Theo Mackie after the tournament was over and done with, Zach Johnson picked apart some of the poorer aspects of the tournament.
Mackie, sharing the exchange on his X account, put a number of questions to Johnson about the state of play and asked the Ryder Cup skipper for his take on matters.
In and among his answers, Johnson mentioned how the security of the event needs to be dialled up a touch to stop fans going overboard. He mentioned people ‘falling from the rafters’ and also hinted he’d seen a female fall some 20-feet.
Johnson then went on to say he was being interviewed at a ‘very emotional point’ and that if the journalists asked him there and then if he’d return, he’d probably say no.
The 47-year-old then finished the conversation with Mackie by conceding he was ‘done with it, done with everything’.
Certainly, it seems the experienced USA native had more than the one concern this weekend.
And in fairness to him, some of the comments are warranted given how out of hand it got at times.
Johnson’s comments follow on from Byeong-Hun An labelling the scenes out of control, while Max Homa also commented on some of the shenanigans among spectators on the 16th hole.
