Polish golf star and LIV golf’s latest recruit, Adrian Meronk, has admitted he’d still love to part of team Europe for 2025.

The Europeans go over to Bethpage in the USA in 2025 looking to defend the title they comfortably won in Rome at the back end of 2023.

Of course, one of the big stories at the time was then-DP World Tour star Meronk not being selected by captain Luke Donald. Instead, Donald opted to go with Sepp Straka and Shane Lowry among his captain’s picks, while hotshot Ludvig Aberg also got a call.

However, despite not being happy about the rejection, Meronk has admitted that despite moving to LIV, he’d still absolutely love to be part of the 2025 team in Bethpage.

“It has always been my goal. Obviously, I didn’t like how I was treated last time, but if it’s possible to play in the Ryder Cup and if I’m good enough, I would love to be on the team. I will just work hard on my game, perform at my best and see what can happen,” Meronk said to The Telegraph.

Adrian Meronk has a long way to go to get into Team Europe

There are a couple of things holding Meronk back here. One, is that Donald is likely to go with the same 12 who did the job so convincingly last time out, or as close to it as he can get.

Secondly, Meronk’s comments on how much it annoyed him in 2023 getting overlooked won’t do him any favours with Donald.

Europe has built a strong spirit and Donald will be wary of upsetting that in anyway shape or form.

Of course, form might dictate that Meronk can’t be ignored. But the move to LIV also won’t have done his cause much good either, given he’s more out of sight and out of mind on that tour.

Meronk, then, has a lot of work ahead of him if he is to be selected in 2025.
