Wyndham Clark made Pebble Beach history 12 months ago after carding a stunning 12-under-par 60 during the final round of the AT&T Pro-Am.
Clark’s score secured him a one-shot victory and, in turn, broke the course record at the historic Monterey Peninsula venue. Due to adverse weather conditions throughout the week, the 2024 AT&T Pro-Am was reduced to 54 holes.
This year’s edition promises to provide a much sterner examination, however, and Clark believes scoring will be higher. That being said, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry both made holes-in-one during the first round, and the PGA Tour’s elite look set to take it low over the coming days.
The golfer who held Pebble Beach course record before Wyndham Clark

Clark’s round last year broke a record which had been standing for seven years.
Hurly Long, a Texas Tech University golfer, shot 61 at Pebble Beach in tournament conditions in 2017. Before his 11-under-par round, David Duval’s 62 in 1997 was the course record.
So, who exactly is Hurly Long? A relative unknown who held an impressive record at one of golf’s great venues.

Pebble Beach’s course record: Who is Hurly Long?
Long was born in Heidelberg, Germany, in 1995 and is currently 29. Long’s record-breaking round at Pebble Beach happened while he was still at Texas Tech.
He won the Carmel Cup on the Monterey Peninsula, where his 61 occurred. After turning professional in 2019, the German-born golfer played on the Challenge Tour without much success.
In 2024, Long played two PGA Tour-sanction events: The Genesis Scottish Open and Barracuda Championship. The latter was where he made his only Tour cut.
However, the German has enjoyed success on the European circuits since. He won his first Challenge Tour title at the Italian Challenge Open Eneos Motor Oil and earned a DP World Tour card for 2022 after ending the year 17th on the Challenge Tour’s Road to Mallorca Rankings.
Long has earned €1,940,871.79 on the DP World Tour and finished second at the 2023 Irish Open.
