If anyone knows Tiger Woods well it’s his former coach Hank Haney and he’s now revealed some intriguing insight from his time working with Woods.

Haney was alongside Woods during some of his most successful years on the golf course and is widely attributed with helping Tiger to the success he had.

Since taking more of a backseat from golf and ending his working relationship with Woods in 2010, Haney has become a big voice in the social media world, especially on X.

And taking to the platform to give some insight into Woods’ mentality as a player, Haney has revealed what he had to do for Tiger to ensure he improved with every shot.

Hank Haney reveals why Tiger Woods constantly wanted fresh information

Haney was joining in a conversation from another golf coach who had suggested that Woods didn’t necessarily care about where the ball went during practice.

However, Haney moved to shut that down with a simple ‘I don’t remember that part’ comment, before going into more detail on what Woods was like on the range.

And unsurprisingly, it seems Woods was a stickler for information and feedback.

What Hank Haney has said about Tiger Woods and others

Haney is never afraid to share a story or voice an opinion and he’s been doing it throughout 2024.

Indeed, Haney picked out Nelly Korda for having the best swing in golf right now, while a look at some past comments from Haney have revealed why Phil Mickelson never got to Tiger’s level.

“If Phil hits his driver straighter he would have been Tiger Woods. But you can’t have everything. Phil had one weakness but so many other strengths.,” Haney said on Mickelson.

Going into 2025, it will be interesting to see if Haney keeps offering up these nuggets of information.

For now, the takes he offers up on Tiger Woods and more are nearly always worth a listen.
