The PGA Championship at Quail Hollow this week is going to put the best players in the world to the test.

Some criticize the tournament for not having a niche like the other three major championships, and while that may be true, it is no less difficult to win.

Quail Hollow is a course familiar to PGA Tour players, as it has hosted the Truist Championship (previously Wells Fargo Championship) for many years, which has come under scrutiny.

However, the organizers have clearly tried to produce a more challenging test than usual, and one hole perfectly demonstrates that.

YouTube golfer Grant Horvat named the hole at Quail Hollow that left him ‘speechless’ when playing there recently.

Grant Horvat can’t believe ‘how difficult’ one hole at Quail Hollow is

Horvat is not quite as good as the players in the PGA Championship field this week, but he is still an amazing golfer.

He said last year that his handicap was +4, so if he says a hole is ‘difficult’ to play, it will be for the professionals, too.

In a recent YouTube video, Horvat played Quail Hollow with George and Wesley Bryan, and told fans to look out for the 9th hole at the PGA Championship.

“We’ve made it here in two shots. We’re in a great spot, actually. Pin high almost. But when you guys are watching this on TV, just remember hole nine.

“Like, I’ve been speechless this entire hole at how difficult it is, how difficult that tee shot is to get it around the corner.

“I just don’t even hit it far enough. So, when you’re watching the PGA Championship, remember hole nine.”

Quail Hollow 9th hole is one of the longest par-4s in major championship history

The par-4 9th hole at Quail Hollow is 530 yards for the PGA Championship this week. It’s expected to be one of the hardest holes on the course.

Indeed, it’s actually the longest par-4 in PGA Championship history and one of the longest ever in major championships.

It’s so long that most players, besides big-hitters like Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy, will be hitting long irons or fairway woods into the green.

In Horvat’s video, he made par with an exceptional up-and-down from the greenside bunker, something we are likely to see a lot at the PGA Championship this week.

Meanwhile, Wesley holed a long putt to escape with four after a poor drive, and George had to settle for a bogey.
