Kevin Kisner made the headlines for all the wrong reasons after Jupiter Links Golf Club fell to a heavy defeat on night two of the tech-infused TGL.

Los Angeles Golf Club – Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and Sahith Theegala – cruised into an 8-1 lead after the alternate shot before eventually winning 12-1.

After Tiger Woods had thrown down ‘The Hammer‘ and split the fairway with his opening drive, things appeared on track for Jupiter Links. However, after the 15-time major winner and Max Homa found the water on the par-five second, LAGC quickly took control. Kisner found the water on the fourth – handing LA the hole – and things went from bad to worse for the 40-year-old during the singles.

Playing the 14th hole, Kisner was left short-sided in the greenside bunker. The American proceeded to shank his approach shot through the green before nearly holing the long comeback chip. Woods, Homa, Morikawa, Rose and Theegala were all left in hysterics.

Clearly not quite at the level required, YouTube star Grant Horvat admitted he felt sorry for Kisner.

Horvat wrote: “I feel for Kevin Kisner right now….”

Kisner’s game has fallen off since he signed his contract with the TGL. The American now appears focused on his off-course career after landing a job with NBC.

As revealed by Golf Digest’s Luke Kerr Dineen, Kisner’s ball speed with his driver was almost identical to the number Woods was generating with his three-wood.

“Kisner’s 159 ball speed with his driver was virtually identical to Tiger’s ball speed (156 mph) with his 3-wood,” he wrote on X.

TGL: What Tiger Woods said about Kevin Kisner’s shank

Speaking after Jupiter Links Golf Club’s heavy defeat, Woods said he was pleased with the level of entertainment provided.

“We were entertaining,” Woods said. “We hit a lot of shots. I think the people here, they got to see how bad pros can be. It was just a boat race. Oh, my goodness. But we had a great time. I don’t know how much [skilly] was evident today; I don’t have any golf skills. Hey, this is a start of a new year. We had a great time. Hopefully, people tuned in for the entire broadcast.”

When asked about Kisner’s wayward shot, Woods added: “We honestly didn’t think that anyone could possibly get hit in here. But that was one of the funniest moments I’ve ever seen, Kis [Kisner] hitting that shot like that. We were just dying.”

Woods’ Jupiter Links are back in action on January 27 against Boston Common Golf Club. The fixture will be Rory McIlroy’s first TGL outing.
