The 2024 PNC Championship captured the imagination of the golfing world as Tiger Woods and Bernhard Langer went head-to-heard in Orlando.

Playing alongside their sons, the all-time greats rolled back the years in the scramble-style format at the Ritz-Carlton Resort.

Clearly, Woods is still the biggest draw in golf, and the PNC Championship undoubtedly generated more excitement than last week’s LIV Golf vs. PGA Tour Showdown in Las Vegas.

It wasn’t just Tiger and Bernhard who put on a show. Woods’ son Charlie made a hole-in-one on the fourth, and Jason – Bernhard’s son – produced some exquisite shots of his own.

The PNC Championship appears to have come at precisely the right time, with the professional game still very much divided.

It’s evident that getting Tiger back fit and firing would do wonders for the game as a whole. Few can move the needle the way the 15-time major winner does.

Reaction to the PNC Championship has mainly been positive, and YouTube star Grant Horvat loved the finale in Orlando.

Horvat wrote: “Gosh, that PNC Championship was unreal. Huge win for golf! What’s everyone’s thoughts?”

As is always the case at pretty much any high-profile event, there was an element of controversy during the latter stages in Orlando.

Langer was allowed to play from the forward tees, with the German over 65 and playing on the Champions Tour.

Woods, as a result, was forced to play from 80 yards further back on the 18th, which gave the German son and father duo a massive advantage. Horvat, however, didn’t want Langer’s advantage to overshadow what was a largely positive two days.

“I wouldn’t let that take away from the overall enjoyment, though,” he wrote in response to a question on X.

Langer has made $37 million on the Champions Tour since and has won 47 times since calling time on his PGA Tour career.
