Charlie Woods picked a phenomenal time to make his first ever hole in one, with the youngster finding the bottom of the cup as he and Tiger Woods pushed to win the PNC Championship.
Charlie Woods had already caught the eye during the first round of the PNC Championship. Team Woods was tied for the lead after the opening day in Florida after posting a 59 on Saturday. But the best was yet to come.
Charlie Woods made a hole in one on the fourth hole during the second round. Unsurprisingly, he seemed to be in total disbelief, while Tiger Woods was not even on the tee initially.
It turned out to be the first ace of the youngster’s life. And should he end up having a career in the game, it is likely to be a moment which is played millions of times in the years to come.
The story of Tiger Woods’ first ever hole in one as Charlie Woods make an amazing ace at the PNC Championship
It also means that his first ever ace is on camera, unlike his father’s. Speaking in 2018, Tiger Woods shared the story of the first ever hole in one he made. It is almost fitting that he actually had no idea that the ball had gone in, given that he was a little late to the party when his son found the bottom of the cup on Sunday.

“It was at Heartwell Golf Club in Long Beach, California, I was eight years old, I hit it and I was too short to see it. So the ball carries a bunker, it rolls into the hole, everybody in my group celebrates but me. I can’t see that high,” he said.
“So one of the guys picks me up, shows me there’s no ball on the green. I’m excited, I run to the green, pick the ball out of the hole and I’m celebrating and the kids come down saying, ‘you idiot, your golf bag’s on the tee’. So I had to go back up and get my golf bag.”
The most famous hole in one of Tiger Woods’ career
Arguably the most famous hole in one of Woods’ career came back in 1997 at the Phoenix Open. While the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale was not the arena that it is now, it was still quite the spectacle when the then-21-year-old sensation managed to find the bottom of the cup.
Quite incredibly, Woods would claim in that 2018 video that he had not had a hole in one since 1999 despite making 19 up until that point.
When you consider that the best of Woods came in 2000, while he remained the dominant force in golf until 2008, it is amazing to think that he would apparently go so long without another ace.
And that means that since Charlie Woods was born, it is the youngster who has more tournament hole in ones than probably the greatest to ever play the game.
