The US Open is less than a week away now and Xander Schauffele is one of the favourites to win going into the tournament.
Schauffele is finding some form at the right time and ahead of the final round of The Memorial this weekend, is well in contention to win.
The American sits just four shots behind Scottie Scheffler at the top of the leaderboard and is looking to build on winning his first major at the PGA a few weeks back.
Of course, with the US Open getting underway on Thursday, Schauffele will be hoping to be among the players who can really make an impression and push Scheffler all the way.
Schauffele has always done well at the US Open without winning. In fact, his record is quite remarkable, and The Athletic’s Justin Ray has shared the stats to back up that claim.

Xander Schauffele’s US Open record stands him in good stead ahead of Pinehurst
Taking to his X account, Ray – who is always one to find an impressive stat – revealed how Schauffele is hanging with some of the best names ever when it comes to his US Open career so far.
Schauffele can win at Pinehurst
Pinehurst is set to offer the players one of the toughest tests on the circuit and it’s going to be a case of staying patient and plotting your way around.
For someone like Xander Schauffele, it could play into his hands.
The American is known for being one of the calmest and most level-headed players on the PGA Tour and he showed at the PGA that when the pressure was on, he stayed cool.
Schauffele will, of course, know he needs to play well at Pinehurst to have a chance.
But if anyone can upset the odds and put Scottie Scheffler under pressure at the moment, then Xander Schauffele is one of the players capable.
