Ludvig Aberg has shared an update on his knee injury ahead of the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.2, which gets underway on June 13.

The Swede is currently competing at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club, the PGA Tour’s last stop before the toughest test of the year.

Aberg has been suffering from a knee problem, which prevented him from playing the Wells Fargo Championship the week before the PGA Championship at Valhalla.

After his level par second round at Muirfield, the world number six was once again asked about the current condition of his knee.

Speaking after day two in Dublin, Aberg insisted that his current knee issue isn’t impacting his game.

“No, it does not [impact his game],” explained the Swede. “I’ve been playing and practicing to 100 per cent over the last couple of weeks. I don’t feel anything when I am playing.”

The 24-year-old will be relieved that his current injury isn’t causing issues ahead of the year’s third major next week.

Ludvig Aberg is now a consistent threat among golf’s elite

Providing he’s past his injury woes, Aberg will be a threat over the weekend and in next week’s U.S. Open.

The Swede’s consistency in the biggest events has been impressive, and he proved he could compete in testing conditions during this year’s Masters at Augusta National.

For Aberg, the next goal will be to turn his consistent top-10 finishes into wins. After breaking onto the PGA Tour scene, victories are what will see him genuinely regarded among the world’s best players.

A major win, for that matter, will propel Aberg to somewhere near Scottie Scheffler’s current status. Whether he’s got what it takes to win the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.2 remains to be seen.
