The PGA Tour have indefinitely suspended one of their players this evening.
The golfing landscape completely changed in 2022, when numerous PGA Tour players upped sticked and switched allegiances to LIV Golf.
There is a still a sense of rivalry between the two entities, and Brandel Chamblee has claimed a merger between the PGA Tour and LIV will never happen.
So much is wrong in the game right now. How can it be that we, as golf fans, only get to see the best players in the world face off against one another four times per year?

Something has to happen before interest in the game from the younger generation dissipates.
One thing’s clear though, the PGA Tour are not backing down one little bit from their stance.
Golf fans react as PGA Tour indefinitely suspend Wesley Bryan
Wesley Bryan is a one-time PGA Tour winner.
He triumphed at the RBC Heritage Classic back in 2017.
However, he is also a content creator on YouTube alongside his brother George.
Bryan recently competed in LIV’s ‘The Duels’ event earlier this month, when professional golfers teamed up alongside content creators.
And now the PGA Tour have taken action by suspending the 35-year-old indefinitely.
Wesley Bryan spoke to Monday Q Info, and responded when asked whether he now regrets his decision to compete in LIV’s ‘The Duels’ showdown:
“No, I don’t have regrets. That video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf.” Bryan added, “We are going to continue to support Grant and grow the game through YouTube.”

Golfing fans have taken to social media to criticise the tour for their decision to do so, especially after inviting another content creator – Grant Horvat to play in the Barracuda Championship this summer.
One golf fan took to X to highlight the PGA Tour’s hypocrisy, “But Grant gets invited to the Barracuda yep makes perfect sense.“
Meanwhile, another fan posted, “HUGE mistake by the @PGATOUR“
Whilst one golf fan suggested that the PGA Tour have gone soft, “Why is the PGA so soft.“
Another golf fan said, “Makes 0 sense.. PGA don’t know what they doing.. inviting Grant to play event but Wes gets suspended for the same event Grant played in?“
Another fan took to X and said, “So they suspend Wes Bryan but offer Grant Horvat a spot in a PGA tournament? Make it make sense,“ whilst another simply said, “Fire Jay.“
Then one golf fan suggested that the PGA Tour are biting off their nose to spite their face, “I have been on the PGA side all alone but this is dumb. YouTube golf is huge and they are literally actively trying to find a way to merge lol.“
It’s very clear that many golf fans are unhappy with the PGA Tour’s decision to suspend Wesley Bryan.
Phil Mickelson explains why LIV is a better product than the PGA Tour
Back in 2022, Phil Mickelson joined LIV Golf from the PGA Tour.
And during the event at Trump National Doral two weeks ago, Mickelson explained why LIV has a far better product on offer:
“I wouldn’t say it’s gone (the tension between tours), Mickelson said. “We are about growing the game globally, whilst the PGA Tour has always been about growing the game nationally. There is a lot of criticism we take in the United States, but if you look globally, the way LIV Golf is received is incredible.
“The model that professional golf has had is very individualistic, not controlling players’ schedules, sponsors don’t know what they’re buying, TV doesn’t know who’s going to be playing and fans don’t know who they’re going to be watching. We’re changing that model entirely. You know who’s going to be playing, TV knows what they’re buying, who’s competing. So when we move that professionally golf globally throughout the world to other countries that have not had golf at the highest level before, you start to see the interest. And that’s what we’re seeing on a global scale.”
It’s a fair point from Mickelson, but one weighed down by a certain level of biasness all the same.
Hopefully one day, the world of golf will be reunited, with the PGA Tour and LIV players competing against one another throughout the year.
As things stand though, things are looking bleak in that regard.
