A former LIV Golf player could join the PGA Tour for the 2026 season after making an incredible putt.
The 2025 DP World Tour season is almost over, with just the Abu Dhabi Championship and the Tour Championship to go.
This also means the season-long Race to Dubai title is nearing a conclusion, with more at stake than just the overall winner.
The top 10 in the standings will earn dual membership to the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, if they do not already.
One player in the hunt for a PGA Tour membership took a significant step forward on the final hole at this week’s Genesis Championship.

Laurie Canter close to earning PGA Tour card for 2026 season
Laurie Canter was just outside the top 10 in the Race to Dubai before the Genesis Championship in Korea.
The Englishman played well throughout the week and was tied for sixth position with one hole remaining at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club.
After two quality shots on the par-5, 570-yard 18th hole, Canter had around a 100-foot putt for an eagle.
Well, Canter made the unlikely putt and celebrated accordingly. This moved him up to third place, which then became joint-second with Nacho Elvira.
He is now up to ninth in the Race to Dubai standings, with almost a 250-point lead over 11th-place Daniel Brown.
There are still thousands of points available at the final two DP World Tour events, but Canter now has an excellent chance to earn a PGA Tour card.

Laurie Canter was baffled by PGA Tour ban last year
Laurie Canter was previously banned from the PGA Tour, as well as all players who joined the LIV Golf league.
Canter was perplexed by the year-long ban, which has now ended, because he never had a PGA Tour membership in the first place.
“I got sent a letter in the middle of the year,” he said. “The PGA Tour clarified the position I was in, which was that I was unable to play for a year from the last LIV event I played in, which was Vegas.
“I replied, saying, ‘Thank you for clarifying that. I think your policy is absurd.’ And I do think it’s absurd. I’ve never been a member of that tour.
“How can you ban someone who has never played on your tour? I would understand it if I were a member of their tour, but in my context, I don’t understand it.”
