Every LIV Golf player who will play at The Open Championship after final qualifying concludes

LIV Golf will be well represented at The Open Championship, having enjoyed a late boost in final qualifying.

A total of 16 LIV Golf players were exempt into The Open Championship before this week’s last opportunity.

But they have now been joined by three more, with Lee Westwood, Lucas Herbert and Dean Burmester taking the total to 19.

A total of 14 LIV Golf players attempted final qualifying across four UK venues on Tuesday, where just 20 spots were available.

The final major championship of the season takes place later this month, with Northern Ireland’s Royal Portrush playing host.

PGA Tour players will once again dominate the field at the tournament, but LIV Golf has another chance to cause somewhat of an upset thanks to its representation at The Open.

And recent additions Westwood, Herbert and Burmester have simply increased those chances after taking on final qualifying, which took place across Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald Links, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire.

From the 19 LIV Golf players taking part, 10 teams are set to be represented, led by three players each from Legion XIII and Ripper GC.

Before taking on The Open, however, the Saudi-backed tour first turns its attention to LIV Golf Andalucia at Real Club Valderrama.

Sergio Garcia reacts after qualifying for The Open Championship at Royal Portrush

One player who did not need to rely on such qualifying for The Open was Sergio Garcia, who secured his spot after LIV Golf Dallas.

Garcia failed to qualify for the US Open, having missed the cut at The Masters and finished T67 at the PGA Championship.

But Garcia has qualified for The Open at Royal Portrush, with the Spaniard sharing his delight at the achievement on social media.

He wrote on X: “I continue to enjoy some incredible moments in my career – and earning a spot in The 153rd Open through my 2025 LIV Golf campaign is definitely one of them. Can’t wait to tee it up at my favourite major in front of some of the best golf fans next month. Vamos!”

Garcia, who won The Masters in 2017, is all set for his 26th appearance at The Open and 102nd major championship start.

It comes after he clinched the LIV Golf Open Championship exemption following the conclusion of the latest tournament.

The Fireballs GC captain didn’t earn any points for his T25 finish in Dallas, but is the highest-placed player inside the top five LIV Golf individual standings through the first nine tournaments of 2025 without an exemption.

Top four Joaquin Niemann, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Patrick Reed all already have an exemption into the upcoming major.
