Two-time major winner Dustin Johnson has reacted after the 4Aces confirmed a brand new signing ahead of the 2024 LIV Golf League.

The trading period is in full swing, and several teams are looking to recruit new players. Jon Rahm is in search of a fourth member for Legion XIII, and there were suggestions that Tony Finau could be the right fit to fill that position.

The RangeGoats are also in the market, with Bubba Watson fighting to resurrect his LIV Golf career after finishing in the relegation zone last season.

Johnson’s 4Aces, however, are the team to make the latest move, confirming the signing of former RangeGoats golfer Thomas Pieters.

Johnson, who is playing at this week’s PIF Saudi International, was asked about the 4Aces’ latest addition in his press conference on Tuesday.

“I played with him a few times this year, known Thomas for a long time,” Johnson said.

“Yeah, he’s a good player. I thought he was a good addition to the team. I feel like he makes the team stronger and more competitive. Especially with how strong the teams are, you’ve always got to try to make your team better.”

Who will leave 4Aces after Thomas Pieters signs?

Currently, the 4Aces have a five-man roster consisting of Johnson, Patrick Reed, Pieters, Harold Varner III, and Perez.

However, with Perez’s contract ending in January 2025, the American could well be the man to make way.

The 48-year-old endured a torrid 2024 season and ended the year just one place above the drop zone. The RangeGoats are yet to name a replacement for Pieters.

With Watson’s future in doubt, his former side has a lot of work to do on the transfer front before the 2025 season starts in February.
