Bryson DeChambeau and Donald Trump took the golfing world by surprise after the duo collaborated in the LIV Golf star’s latest YouTube video.

DeChambeau confirmed the video was used to raise money for charity as the pair attempted to break 50 from the red tees at Trump’s Bedminster course.

Unsurprisingly, the former President claimed DeChambeau was the best golfer on the planet before the round was underway.

The duo posted a remarkable 51, with Trump making a solo eagle in the process and perhaps silencing some of his golfing critics.

During the round, the pair shared several intriguing stories from their golfing experiences.

Trump told DeChambeau of advice he had received from Gary Player about how high to tee the ball up on par three.

Trump explained: “Do you know, I never heard this before? Gary Player told me this. He won 168 tournaments and nine majors. He said President, what are you doing? Because I always teed it level with the ground.

“He said the reason for a tee on a par three is because you have to lift it up. I had never heard that. I always thought bad players did that, can you imagine all the years I played golf. I always had it level; he said what’s the purpose of using it.”

Donald Trump’s love of golf explained

Trump’s love of golf started in 1999 when the then-real estate businessman started acquiring courses.

Now, the former President owns 17 courses worldwide, including several high-profile properties in Scotland, including the highly-rated Trump Turnberry.

Unfortunately, the former Open Championship venue won’t host the event until Trump’s affiliation has ended after the R&A made a statement in 2021.

Trump’s organization also managed several golf courses in Dubai and Puerto Rice, although not owned by them.

The Trump-owned Bedminster was set to host the PGA Championship in 2022 before being replaced by Southern Hills in January 2021.
