The build-up to the 2025 Ryder Cup is on with under 12 months to go until Luke Donald’s Europe face the USA at Bethpage Black.
The European qualification period has begun, with the top six players automatically earning a spot on the team. Donald will then add six more names to complete his roster.
Jon Rahm’s participation is still uncertain, as the Spaniard is still reluctant to settle his debts with the Wentworth authorities.
Donald also has his eye on Tom McKibbin, who has impressed along with several younger players on the DP World Tour.
Here, The Golfing Gazette brings you the latest Ryder Cup standings after the British Masters, Omega European Masters, Irish Open, Spanish Open and BMW PGA Championship.

1. Rasmus Hojgaard
Rasmus Hojgaard currently leads the way after winning the Irish Open at Royal County Down. The Dane edged out Rory McIlroy on the famous Irish course.
Hojgaard also placed third at the British Masters and T38 at the BMW.
2. Rory McIlroy
McIlroy will be a part of Donald’s team regardless of where he finishes in the rankings. The Northern Irishman has two runner-up finishes in his last two starts at the Irish Open and BMW PGA Championship.
McIlroy was unfortunate not to win at Wentworth after Billy Horschel made an eagle on the second playoff hole.
3. Matt Wallace
Englishman Matt Wallace triumphed at the Omega European Masters and also placed in the top 15 at the BMW PGA Championship.
The 34-year-old’s consistent form means he stands a good chance of being a part of Donald’s plans on Long Island.
4. Niklas Nørgaard
Niklas Nørgaard won the British Masters at the Belfry to get his Ryder Cup qualification campaign off to the perfect start. Since then, the Dane has finished T36 and T7.
5. Angel Hidalgo
Fiery Spaniard Angel Hidalgo claimed a memorable Spanish Open victory after beating Jon Rahm in a playoff.
Hidalgo would be an explosive addition to Donald’s team, and there’s no doubt he would leave absolutely everything out on the course. There’s a good chance the 26-year-old would thrive in the hostile Bethpage Black atmosphere.
6. Matteo Manassero
Matteo Manassero has burst back into form in 2024 after struggling badly with his game in recent times.
The Italian led the BMW PGA Championship heading into the final round before McIlroy and Horschel took control.
The 31-year-old has undoubtedly shown glimpses as he looks to reproduce the form that saw him take the golfing world by storm during the early part of his career.
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are currently outside automatic qualification places

Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton were crucial members of Donald’s team in 2023 and will undoubtedly be picked should the LIV pair be eligible to participate.
The Spaniard currently sits eighth in the standings but could improve his ranking after this weekend’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Hatton sits down in 33rd but will stand a good chance of improving his position over the coming weeks.
