Collin Morikawa has added another appearance at The Masters to his impressive CV, but he failed to really challenge eventual winner Rory McIlroy.

Morikawa was Brandel Chamblee’s Masters favourite earlier this year, but it was McIlroy who triumphed at Augusta for the very first time.

He edged out Justin Rose in a playoff after the pair finished on 11-under, with Morikawa well back on three-under.

The two-time major champion finished T14 at The Masters, level with a long list of high-profile names including former champions Jon Rahm and Bubba Watson.

Morikawa carded rounds of 72, 69, 72 and 72 in Georgia, falling well short of his best finish at The Masters of T3 last year.

But he has come very close to ending that drought this season, having finished as runner-up at The Sentry and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

His focus now turns to improving on the greens, with Morikawa certain to be challenging for more major titles in the near future if he can indeed raise his level with the putter.
