Charley Hull is firmly in contention to win the HSBC Women’s World Championship over in Singapore but will be hoping for some better preparation than she got in round three.
The English superstar is one of the hottest properties on the LPGA Tour and along with the likes of Nelly Korda, is a star attraction in big tournaments.
Hull has put herself into prime position to challenge and she’ll go out in the last group alongside another superstar of women’s golf, Lydia Ko, to battle it out.
However, while Hull has got herself to nine under par and in contention, she’ll be hoping for a better pre-round effort ahead of round four.

Charley Hull shares illness prior to round three of the HSBC Women’s World Championship
Hull was speaking to the media following her excellent third round of 68 over in Singapore.
However, even more impressive for Hull was the fact she revealed she’d actually been ill prior to tee off, before knocking some time off her 5km PB.
“I don’t know really. I woke up this morning and I actually was sick. I threw up, and then I kind of got my head together,” Hull revealed.
“Then I actually did my personal best in my 5K run in 26 minutes, knocked another minute off. I was pretty happy about that. 30 seconds off, actually.
“That kept me in a good space for the rest of the day. Just went out on the golf course and played golf.”
Why Charley Hull is obsessed with off-course training
Charley Hull has been making a name for herself on and off the golf course in recent years and she’s very much a figure-head for the LPGA Tour.
Hull has spoken out on slow play, and is never afraid of voicing an opinion or backing herself.
Indeed, when it comes to her training, she’s had critics suggesting she doesn’t train for golf.
However, Hull hit back at those critics in emphatic fashion.
“People are asking why I run so much and why I don’t do golf specific training. 1 – Golf training is boring I have no interest in that at all but the training and weights I do help with golf,” Hull wrote.
2 – I love running as a hobby and for my fitness and my mind. The more fitter you are, the less jet lag you get and the more stamina you have. 3 – ‘You’ll get injured’ – No, because I do my recovery, ice baths, compression boots, physio, and massage. And I hate being a slob, I love always being on the go and living life in the fast lane. Sleep is key though. I get about 10-11 hours a night but I can survive on four to five no problem.
“4 – ‘You smoke’ – Yeah I do, it’s the only bad thing I do. I don’t eat unhealthy I eat super clean, I never drink alcohol, probably two-three times a year max. I got all my drinking on the way when I was 18/19 (good times). Here’s to all you Karen’s out there!”
Hull will be hoping to make it over the line in Singapore as she looks to seal win number eight of her professional career.
