With golf and tennis very much down to having a high element of hand-eye co-ordination, it’s little surprise to see some of the greats of tennis being more than capable on the fairways.
The likes of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are open admirers of the game, while the recently retired Andy Murray has backed himself to get to scratch within a couple of years.
Right now, with the golf season firmly under way and the Australian Open in tennis getting up and running, the big names are once again in the media’s firing line for all sorts of questions.
Indeed, golf was the subject of choice for the reporter interviewing current world number three Carlos Alcaraz after he saw off Alexander Shevchenko in the opening round in Australia.

Carlos Alcaraz says who has the best golf swing in tennis
Alcaraz was speaking on court after his win over Shevchenko when the conversation light-heartedly turned to his golf game.
And when asked about the best swings and good friend Rafael Nadal and world number one Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz put himself as top dog.
“I never played with him but I saw his swing. I’m not going to say anything,” Alcaraz laughed.
Asked by the reporter to rank the swings of himself, Nadal and Skinner, the Spaniard put himself on top.
“I have to start with my swing. It’s pretty solid. But the ball is always right or left. Never in the centre. Do you want me to rank based on effective swing or beautiful swing?
When pressed to rank them on effectiveness, it made Alcaraz’s mind up.
“I’m sorry but I’ll put myself as the first one. Second Rafa. Third Jannik.”
Who is the best golfer in professional tennis?
It’s always hard to gauge who is the best to make the crossover from tennis to golf but it is widely known that Rafa Nadal is a keen golfer.
Indeed, Alcaraz previously named Nadal and Casper Ruud as the two best players on the ATP Tour while fans were left impressed by Andy Murray’s swing last year when he played in the BMW pro-am.
On the flipside, Matt Kuchar is known to be keen tennis player, while DP World Tour player Christo Lamprecht also won tennis championships as a junior.
For now, though, it’s very much Rafa Nadal who stands out as the best to play both sports, even if his good friend Alcaraz puts his own swing above his countryman!
