Rory McIlroy joined Tiger Woods in the exclusive Grand Slam club on Sunday, after his incredible victory at The Masters.
And Butch Harmon has made a huge claim about Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, following Sunday’s spectacular finish at The Masters.
The patrons were amped up for the final grouping on Sunday, and they really got behind Rory McIlroy as he made his way around the rolling hills of Augusta National.
It was far from easy for Rory on Sunday afternoon, and he had to bounce back from numerous setbacks.

The Northern Irishman’s struggles throughout his round would have made his eventual victory that much sweeter though.

Tiger Woods has been exactly where Rory was on Sunday – 25 years ago in fact, when he completed the Grand Slam in The Open at St Andrews.
The 49-year-old is one of the best two golfers to have ever played the game. And with that in mind, Butch Harmon’s claim on Sunday was a rather bold one to say the least.
Butch Harmon makes Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods claim after spectacular ending to The Masters
Harmon coached Woods for 11 years from 1993-2004.
The world famous golf coach has seen everything there is to see in the game.
So when he talks, golf fans usually listen.
Harmon was speaking on Sky Sports after Rory’s incredible win at The Masters, and made a huge claim about the 35-year-old’s victory:

“He made it look so easy. He made it look easy. He never stressed like this. Tiger never had stress like this. Tiger would run off and beat everybody. He didn’t go through what Rory went through today. We saw an amazing man today in Rory McIlroy, not a kid or a boy, a man. Who did what he had to do with everything that could go wrong and everything which could go right all at the same time. And he pulled it off!“
Harmon clearly enjoyed watching Rory battle hard around Augusta on Sunday. However, Butch has clearly forgotten about a few dog-fights the 15-time major champion went through!
Tiger Woods DID have to fight for certain majors
I mean, come on Butch, Tiger won the 2008 U.S Open with a broken leg!
He had to do it over an 18-hole play-off against Rocco Mediate as well.
Tiger won the PGA Championship in 1999 by one stroke, the 2000 PGA in a play-off against Bob May and the 2001 Masters by a single shot.
Woods won the 2005 Masters after a play-off against Chris DiMarco and then he conquered Augusta for the fifth time with a one-shot victory in 2019.
Make no mistake about it, Tiger Woods had to fight just as much as Rory McIlroy did at The Masters on Sunday to win plenty of his majors, contrary to what Butch Harmon claims.
