Bryson DeChambeau warned why it will be really difficult for him to make USA’s Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black

Bryson DeChambeau would be a world-class addition to Keegan Bradley’s USA Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black.

DeChambeau is now eligible for the USA team after the PGA of America confirmed LIV Golf players would be available for selection.

Fans wanted DeChambeau on the 2024 Presidents Cup team, but no breakaway league stars were permitted to compete at Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Bradley has consistently reiterated his desire to pick the strongest possible side, which could include DeChambeau, Patrick Reed, and Brooks Koepka.

However, the LIV trio have been warned they may be solely reliant on a captain’s pick.

Golf Channel pundit Rex Hoggard has suggested that DeChambeau will face difficulty making the team automatically.

Hoggard’s colleague Ryan Lavner asked, “Give us an unforeseen, off-the-radar name with the potential to play in the next Ryder Cup or not.”

“Bryson DeChambeau or any LIV player,” Hoggard replied. “He will have exactly four opportunities to stay inside the world’s top ten. And you and I both know it will be difficult. It’s going to be really hard for those guys to do it.

“For any American to qualify for the US team, I am not talking about a pick. It would have to be considered out of the box. You have such a small window. A finite amount of time to pull this off and we’ve seen how difficult it is. So I am going to go with any American, Bryson, Brooks, Patrick Reed.”

Ryder Cup: Bryson DeChambeau likely to land captain’s pick

If DeChambeau fails to stay within the world’s top and best USA players, Bradley will almost certainly hand the LIV Golf star a pick.

Leaving DeChambeau and Koepka off the team would spark fury among US fans, particularly after the PGA of America’s decision to grant LIV players access.

However, the process for European LIV players isn’t quite as straightforward.

Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Sergio Garcia must maintain their DP World Tour membership to make the team. However, with the Wentworth authority handing out fines and sanctions, roadblocks have emerged.

Rahm and Hatton have reportedly appealed their outstanding fines, but the issue must be resolved in 2025 if the duo want to represent Luke Donald’s team at Bethpage Black.
