Bryson DeChambeau will be allowed to play in next year’s Ryder Cup after an announcement this week from the PGA of America.

With so much uncertainty still surrounding the LIV events and players, there’s been numerous question marks over who might make the cut for Team USA in next year’s Ryder Cup.

The pathway is now there for LIV players to qualify, albeit the LIV events do not still carry any world ranking points with them in terms of that qualification.

Of course, there remains an issue with the actual deal between the LIV and PGA Tours, which Rory McIlroy described as having ‘stumbling blocks’ in its way at the moment.

Still, the news for LIV players for the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship is excellent for them, and after golf fans in America celebrated the announcement, DeChambeau himself has now been giving his own verdict on proceedings.

Bryson DeChambeau reacts to being allowed to play in the Ryder Cup in 2025

Speaking to the media ahead of playing in LIV Dallas’ team finale this weekend, DeChambeau was asked for his reaction to the statement from the PGA of America.

And for DeChambeau, he feels it’s a positive step in the right direction.

“I think it’s — one, I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for the PGA of America and what they’ve done for junior golf and other things alike,” DeChambeau said.

“I’ve come close to winning their tournament numerous times, and to see that they came out and made that statement is great reassurance that us players will eventually have a pathway, whether it be exemptions or whatnot — hopefully have a pathway to play in the Ryder Cup and other tournaments as such.

“I think it’s just the start. I think it’s the beginning to opening up the ecosystem back to a place where players can play across numerous tours and support different charities alike and tournaments alike in different countries and regions. I think it’s a great first step.”

DeChambeau will be at Bethpage Black

Whether it’s by automatic qualification by winning a major or two or simply by being picked by Keegan Bradley, there is no doubt Bryson DeChambeau will be at Bethpage Black next year.

Put simply, he is just too good to leave out and right now, there are not 12 players in America who are better than him.

DeChambeau has emerged as one of the most popular and best players on the entire world circuit and a Ryder Cup without him just seems illogical.

DeChambeau, then, will no doubt end up being key to the USA’s chances.
