It’s hard to pick a genuine weakness in Bryson DeChambeau’s game after the 31-year-old enjoyed a successful season in the LIV Golf League and picked up his second major championship title.

DeChambeau’s clutch putting was faultless, and his tee-to-green play was on par with some of the game’s elite. DeChambeau’s ridiculous stock yardages allowed him to overpower courses at times in 2024, and the American will be looking to repeat the trick next season.

As the new year approaches, most professionals will be looking to identify areas to improve on, and DeChambeau is set to focus on one area of the bag.

During his latest Break 50 YouTube video, alongside NFL legend Tom Brady, DeChambeau explained how he’s looking to dial in between 120 and 40 yards.

“My game has to improve with my wedging,” the 2024 US Open champion revealed.

“I have to get better. I don’t know if you saw any of the shots over my house on social media. I am on day seven or eight right now, and I have come within inches. Day seven I literally had a grouping dispersion of five balls inside three feet and one of them was two inches from the hole and it didn’t go in. I mean, I lost it. I went crazy. But I think I am going to get it before day 20. If I get to 20, I am out.”

DeChambeau added: “There’s no way I am going more than that. It’s 95 yards, bunch of glass in front of you, it’s fun man. It’s a difficult shot but the wind swirls the ball and then it goes down and swirls among the trees there, so sometimes it moves a bit differently, it’s honestly got to be a bit of luck. It’s fun.

“That’s the one thing I need to improve on is my wedging from 120 yards to 40 yards. It’s hitting it closer from there.”

On day 16, DeChambeau finally made a hole-in-one as the captivating mini-series finally reached its conclusion.

What Bryson DeChambeau said about his wedge game after US Open victory

Immediately after his US Open victory at Pinehurst No.2, DeChambeau told YouTube star Grant Horvat that he was close to unlocking his full potential when it came to his wedges.

“I’ve learned how to control it,” he said. “It has [improved]. It’s the secret sauce there. I’ve figured out something about a month ago.

“It’s pretty crazy stuff, but I am not going to let that one out of the bag yet. It’s something to do with bounce.”

DeChambeau currently uses Ping Glide 4.0 Wedges. The American carries a 60-degree lob wedge, a 56-degree sand wedge that has been bent to 55, a 50-degree gap wedge and a 45-degree pitching wedge.
