Bryson DeChambeau has just played out one of the rounds of The Open with a fantastic six-under 65 on Friday.
DeChambeau entertained Open fans before the major championship got underway, but his smile quickly disappeared after round one.
The LIV Golf ace carded a nightmare seven-over 78 on Thursday, having really struggled in every aspect at Royal Portrush.
But it was a very different story in round two for DeChambeau, who soared up the leaderboard with a stunning performance.
DeChambeau is still in danger of missing the cut at The Open, a tournament he has largely struggled at during his fantastic career so far.

Bryson DeChambeau reveals development of new piece of golf equipment
Finishing his two rounds in Northern Ireland on one-over, the entertaining golfer now potentially faces a nervous wait regarding the cut.
Speaking after his second round, DeChambeau admitted he wanted to go home after day one, but he also teased a new piece of golf equipment he intends to use in the near future.

He explained: “Look, I’m working with somebody that’s going to get me a ball that works better for my speeds.
“Hopefully there’s some more improvements to be made there. That’s something I hope to complete in the next year.
“I need help out here. I hit it way too high. I’ve tried to lower my flight but I compress down on it really hard and the thing just… I spin it like crazy, and then on my wedges I don’t spin it. Launches high with no spin.
“I’m working on a few things that’ll help get that launch down while controlling the spin so it’s more predictable out of my wedge shots.

“That’s what I was kind of working on and seeing if there was a more stable ball in windy conditions early in the week. There’s not.
“But I’m working with somebody that I’ve already seen improvements on. It’s just not ready to be released, unfortunately. They can’t make enough as quickly as they’d like.
“But it’s coming; it’ll be here, worst case scenario September, but an iteration of it in the next couple weeks. Not in time for this week, but I’m going to give it my all this weekend.”

Bryson DeChambeau shares his ‘goal’ with new ball as he looks for Open improvement
Three missed cuts from seven appearances at The Open is certainly far from ideal, although he did manage a T8 finish in 2022.
However, he understandably wants to improve his performances in links golf, with both of his major wins having arrived at the US Open.
Clarifying if the new ball is just for The Open or for everything, he noted: “It might be for everything. Most likely for everything. I need a golf ball that on wedges can click on the face more consistently.
“I get a lot of slipping on the face just because of how vertical I am and how much loft I have, and it just rolls up the face and launches with no spin most of the time on my shots, so getting something that comes off at a more consistent trajectory in adverse conditions is really the goal.”
DeChambeau is, of course, one of the most unique golfers in the world, often hitting the ball much further than anyone else.
He’s driven the ball the furthest on average in the current LIV Golf season, but is clearly eager to make the most of his specific skill set as soon as possible.
