Bryson DeChambeau was in very high spirits in practice for The Open, which is now underway at Royal Portrush.

DeChambeau could miss The Open cut, although it is very difficult to predict just how the charismatic American will fare.

He enters The Open sitting third in the LIV Golf individual standings, having just finished T30 in Andalucia.

DeChambeau is among 19 LIV golfers at The Open, but is arguably the most high-profile thanks to his attempts to grow the game.

The American has often accompanied his day job with social media challenges and insights, much to the delight of fans.

He has also now been captured treating fans to a remarkable shot on the course, hitting a low stinger with his driver, as per Flushing It.

Can Bryson DeChambeau end The Open disappointment at Royal Portrush?

It was a stunning shot, but whether or not DeChambeau repeats such an approach from the tees at Royal Portrush remains to be seen.

Mastering links golf is no mean feat, and the LIV Golf star is certain to find trouble at various stages of the tournament.

The 31-year-old has, of course, already mastered his home major, having won the US Open in both 2020 and 2024.

But success at The Open has been hard to come by, with DeChambeau’s best finish arriving via a T8 place at St Andrews in 2022.

There have been three missed cuts from his seven appearances, meaning he may need a different approach entirely this week.

One certainty, however, is that fans will love his antics over the coming days, and DeChambeau should enjoy the challenge regardless of his final position.
