Bryson DeChambeau is back in contention for another major championship, this time at The Masters.

DeChambeau was delighted to return to Augusta, where his best result came when he finished T6 last time out.

Grant Horvat thinks Rory McIlroy will win The Masters, with the Northern Irishman chasing his first success at the event.

DeChambeau is in the same position, with his two career major championship wins both arriving at the US Open.

And last year’s triumph involved a tense battle with McIlroy, with the American clinching a one-stroke win at Pinehurst last summer.

It is the four-time major champion who leads the way going into round four, with McIlroy currently on 12-under.

DeChambeau meanwhile is in solo second on 10-under, having finished his third round with a 48-foot birdie putt on the 18th.

Perhaps unsurprisingly in high spirits ahead of Sunday at The Masters, the LIV Golf star posted on X: “Tomorrow is going to be fun.”

DeChambeau should gain confidence from Pinehurst heading into Sunday, perhaps in a mental aspect more than anything else.

McIlroy suffered a nightmare final round collapse back then, allowing the charismatic American to sneak in for his second US Open win.

The heartbroken Northern Irishman didn’t hang around to speak with the media last summer, something he repeated after his first round at The Masters this week.

But neither player holds a real edge in terms of scoring history, with the pair both out to secure their first victory at Augusta.

McIlroy does, however, at least boast a more significant best finish, having come second to Scottie Scheffler in 2022.

LIV Golf icon DeChambeau is now looking for success on his ninth start at The Masters, in which he has posted scores of 69, 68 and 69.
