Bryson DeChambeau is probably the biggest name in professional golf at the moment besides Rory McIlroy.

Fellow Americans Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele might have won more tournaments in recent years, but DeChambeau’s popularity is on another level.

The 31-year-old’s social media presence is off the charts, with over two million followers on Instagram and more than three million subscribers on YouTube.

With his creative and entertaining content on both platforms, he’s bringing a new generation of fans into the sport

Speaking ahead of the US Open at Oakmont this week, DeChambeau named his favorite YouTube video on his channel.

DeChambeau has many popular series on his YouTube channel, such as ‘Break 50’ with household names like Donald Trump and Phil Mickelson.

But his favorite series to date was trying to make a hole-in-one over his house in Dallas, which took 16 days to finally achieve.

The final episode has over 2.1 million views, and the series amassed over 10 million in total, showcasing just how popular his content is.

“So, the hole in one series over the house is by far my favourite,” he explained on SportsCenter before the US Open.

“The amount of engagement, the way people responded, it’s unlikely anything I’ve ever experienced, so that’s number one. The break 50 series has been great.”

DeChambeau also shared that he thinks another one of his popular YouTube series actually helps him to prepare for major championships.

The defending US Open champion often goes to public golf clubs and tries to break the course record, which is not easy even for the best players in the world.

He said this puts him in the right frame of mind to compete for the biggest prizes in professional golf.

“To be honest, I love the course record series,” DeChambeau added. “Going and filming a course record series, trying to break a course record at a public golf course, right before a major championship, kind of gets me in that mode of tournament game time.

“So, I feel comfortable going into these majors even though I haven’t played as many tournaments as other people. We played a tournament last week, which is lucky, but I would’ve been filming a course record series last Saturday had I not.

“It just kind of gets me focused for the week and helps really dial in and say, ‘you’ve got to give it all you have.’ It gives me a bit of preparation going into those major weeks.”
