Bryson DeChambeau is expected to have a big role to play in The PGA Championship this week.

Quail Hollow is a course that DeChambeau should be able to take full advantage of, given his enormous length off the tee.

Golf fans are eagerly anticipating The PGA Championship this year, with so many top quality players all in great form heading into the event.

And DeChambeau is one of the favourites to win The PGA Championship, due to Quail Hollow being tailor-made for his game.

The 31-year-old American finally got off the mark in 2025 with a win at LIV Korea nine days ago.

There is not a golfer who works harder than DeChambeau, and he will be hoping that all of those hard yards pay off at Quail Hollow this week.

However, he has experienced somewhat of a setback heading into the event.

Bryson DeChambeau makes admission before start of The PGA Championship

DeChambeau has been in contention to win on Sunday in the past four tournaments he has played.

However, he didn’t get the job done until the last LIV event.

Despite his incredible all-round form, the one thing that has held him back over the past six weeks or so has been his iron play.

And DeChambeau made an honest admission before the start of this week’s event at Quail Hollow.

He said, I hope so. I’ve been working on my irons a little bit. I haven’t changed irons. I was hoping to have new irons by this week, but it just didn’t work out that way. I played pretty well in Mexico, played well at Augusta — well, played okay at Augusta. My irons weren’t that great. But played better in Mexico. My irons were really good in Korea. I feel like it’s moving in the right direction.

Let’s hopefully keep it more of the same. If I can do that, I’ll give myself a good chance this week.

Jim Nantz on how Bryson DeChambeau can become ‘gigantic’

Let’s face it, DeChambeau is already a huge star.

But Jim Nantz thinks he can get even bigger, if he does one thing.

The legendary sports anchor said, “Well, he’s been a TV asset when he’s playing at the major championships. I can’t say he’s a TV asset on LIV, just to make, you know, not trying to take a shot here. I’m just talking about the pure numbers. People haven’t really been watching, and he is a TV star, though, when it comes to social media, YouTube, and all those videos.

“My son, Jamo, he loves all those Bryson videos. He watches him over and over again, so would he be a big draw? I mean, I’m not going to hide the fact, I have no reason to. I’m very fond of Bryson. I think he would be a tremendous draw, and I expect him to be in the thick of things here.

“If I boil it down to your question. I think that if he was playing where we saw him all the time on a regular basis, his stardom would be gigantic. We just don’t get a chance to see him very often, compete against the players he’s going to compete against this week, and he has seized this stage really well. I mean, look what he did at Valhalla a year ago, and he rallied thousands of people behind him. So I wish him well. I think he’s done a lot of great things for the game, and I think he’s going to be right there.

The thing is, DeChambeau seems to be more than happy on LIV right now, so unless a merger happens with the PGA Tour, he won’t be returning any time soon.

The thing with the 31-year-old is that playing on LIV hasn’t adversely affected his ability to perform in majors.

And as long as that is the case, DeChambeau will be fully committed to LIV Golf, I’m sure.
