Bryson DeChambeau makes comment about Scottie Scheffler just two days before The Masters as he says what he wants to happen to the weather

Bryson DeChambeau is very much a player to watch from The LIV Golf side of things as we approach the beginning of the 2025 Masters.

The LIV Golf superstar is one of a number from that particular tour looking to take the green jacket and after playing well in Miami last week, DeChambeau looks in good form.

So far in his career, a win at The Masters has very much eluded DeChambeau and until last year, he’d never really come close to winning.

• However, with a new-found confidence and popularity in the game, DeChambeau comes to Augusta National feeling good and speaking ahead of the opening round, he’s suggested he’s open to some tough conditions.

Bryson DeChambeau says what he wants the weather to do at The Masters

DeChambeau was one of the players in the hotseat for their pre-Masters press conference and he covered a wide range of subjects ahead of the event kicking off on Thursday.

However, interestingly, he got onto the potential for some windy weather and after referencing Scottie Scheffler’s ability to adapt to conditions, DeChambeau suggested he was hoping for some wind.

“Well, considering I felt pretty good last week in the wind, I hope the wind blows a little bit this week, and hopefully I can take what I learned from last week into this week,” DeChambeau admitted.

Just like the US Open in 2024, we are going to see a McIlroy and DeChambeau head to head and for the golfing fans, it’s the ideal scenario.

“It’s so funny because golf courses are interestingly dynamic and every single one you go to is different, and you have to conquer that test. Last week was a bit of Bermuda rough, and this week is a different test.

“And I think that’s the cool part about it. Who adapts the best; who can change quickly to those conditions. Scottie has done a great job of that the past couple years, and Jon has played really well at the courses we’ve played at.

“I’m aspiring to be more like that; can I adapt to those conditions. Yeah, the wind was a great test last week. I’m glad I was able to play pretty well. Didn’t get the job done. A little disappointed, but that’s golf.

“We lose more than we win. But it was a great learning experience, and hopefully I can take that into this week.”

Is bad weather forecast for The Masters 2025?

For round one, it seems like DeChambeau is going to get a little bit of what he’s asking for not but to the extremes of the Miami weather last weekend.

The forecast suggests that there’ll be a light breeze on opening day at Augusta, with temperatures around the 75 degrees mark.

That should, in theory, make things comfortable for most out on the course and if it does stay mild, we could see some good scores early on.

Of course, things can swing quickly at Augusta and if the winds get up and a bit of rain comes in, then it could be a wild week that opens the tournament up to everyone.
