Bryson DeChambeau has doubled down on his commitment to LIV Golf after speculation emerged about his future on the Saudi-backed venture.
Ahead of LIV‘s Hong Kong event, DeChambeau was linked with a PGA Tour return after unsubstantiated rumours emerged online. There were suggestions that the two-time US Open champ had failed to agree on a contract extension.
What’s more the speculation surrounding DeChambeau came in the midst of Fred Couples suggesting Brooks Koepka wants to play on the PGA Tour once more. Speaking to Golfweek, the 1992 Masters champ detailed private conversations he’d had with Koepka.
Phil Mickelson slammed Couples’ comments on X before deleting his post. Now, speaking ahead of this week’s event, DeChambeau has delivered a strong message on the league’s future: ‘We aren’t going anywhere’.
Bryson DeChambeau delivers strong LIV Golf claim

When asked about LIV’s future, DeChambeau said, “I continue to see LIV Golf growing. It’s going to grow at an exponentiating pace for years to come, and we aren’t going anywhere.
“Yeah, we hope that this format breeds another competition level. That’s what LIV is all about is: bringing the best competition around the world. We think by having the stakes raised where every single score counts, it’s not going to be lackadaisical. We care about winning every single time we come up here.
DeChambeau added: “I think that’s where, yeah, there’s going to be a separation for a little bit, but over time, I think we’ll start to have the competition level raised because of it. So yeah, the best teams are going to win. That’s the way I think it should be. But I also do think it’s going to breed some competitive fire in some teams that don’t necessarily have that firepower. They’re going to want to figure out how to get better. I think it’s a good thing competition breeds excellence. I think that’s true for LIV.”
LIV Golf rumours coincide with PGA Tour merger talk
The rumours concerning Koepka and DeChambeau come at a time when the PGA Tour and Public Investment Fund are reportedly nearing a ‘merger’ deal of some sort. 19 months have passed since the groundbreaking Framework Agreement was reached. However, the game of golf still looks very similar.
President Donald Trump’s involvement in talks has renewed optimism that the professional game could soon be unified. Trump has been a long-time lover of the sport and owns multiple high-class venues.
Trump also has close ties to DeChambeau, and Golf Channel pundit Brandel Chamblee made an interesting claim about the LIV Golf star ahead of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Chamblee is convinced DeChambeau is eager to return to the PGA Tour in the wake of the recent rumours. However, after the two-time US Open champ’s comments in Hong Kong, his immediate future appears to lie with LIV.
