Bryson DeChambeau has risen up the PGA Championship leaderboard after round two, having carded a three-under 68.
Many LIV Golf players failed to shine at the PGA Championship in round one, where DeChambeau opened with a 71.
He has finished his first two rounds of the PGA Championship on three-under, with the American chasing a 10th PGA Tour win.
LIV Golf’s DeChambeau is also eyeing a third major championship win this week, with his two successes having both arrived at the US Open.
Quail Hollow is playing host to the second major of 2025, after Augusta National hosted The Masters last month.

Bryson DeChambeau analyses ‘weird’ PGA Championship round two
DeChambeau entered the final day in Georgia in a battle for the title with Rory McIlroy, but it was the Northern Irishman who emerged victorious as the American fell back.
The LIV Golf icon has now shared his analysis of his latest major round, saying: “It was a weird day today, much like yesterday.
“I felt like I was playing good, just didn’t get anything out of it. Today was a little bit better on some of the holes.
“Still got some weird breaks out there. That’s what this golf course does to you. It was tricky with the wind kind of swirling, but for the most part, I felt pretty good.
“Not my best driving although I’m hitting it really far right now, which is great. Wedge play needs to be cleaned up a little bit. Yeah, take more advantage of the par-5s and short par-4s for me.”
And when asked what score he thinks is possible at the weekend with the conditions improving, he said: “It depends where the pins are. The pins have been mostly on top of crowns this week, which has made it a very difficult test of golf.
“You have to have your irons super precise this week, which we all know how good my wedges are, so that makes it a little bit more difficult for me. That’s okay, though.
“It’s a great test. I’ve just got to have my putting a little more on and keep playing the way I am. It easily could be 7-, 8-under right now, or I could be even par.
“So just keep moving along, and I think a 65, 64 is out there. I almost shot it out there today and I definitely saw it out there, I just didn’t accomplish it.”
Bryson DeChambeau issues apology after his second round at the PGA Championship
At a course that undoubtedly favours big-hitters, DeChambeau has certainly lived up to expectations in that area.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, he led the way for round one driving distance, although it was Tyrrell Hatton who had the most favourable day overall regarding LIV Golf players.
But DeChambeau has put himself in contention after an impressive showing on Friday, although he wasn’t entirely satisfied after coming off the course.
Asked if it is mostly on the ground or in the air when tasked with expanding on his ‘weird breaks’ comment, he said: “It’s a little bit of the air for sure.
“Then today, just on 9, I hit it down the left-hand side a little bit of a draw and it bounced into the rough. It was sitting up, and I just went under it a fraction and it hit the top of the face and came out dead.
“Really regret not just spending 10 more seconds to look at it and go, okay, I need to choke down a little bit on that second shot.”
Questioned if it was just the way it was sitting having looked good to his eye, he replied: “Yeah, it was just too high. It was sitting up high, and I went underneath it a little bit.
“14, had a weird bunker lie. It was on a little bit of a downslope in the front of the bunker. It’s just weird golf stuff. It happens all the time. Hopefully I get a couple more breaks tomorrow.”

DeChambeau was also asked about what he thought went right on Friday, and he responded: “Yeah, like number 4, I pushed it a little right and the wind died.
“I stayed up in the little front section and made birdie. 2, I thought I hit a perfect drive as well, just aimed it too far left and caught the trees and went down in the pine straw. 17…”
Interrupted with the comment: “I thought we were talking about good breaks,” he responded: “I’m trying. I’m trying to think. There wasn’t really many today. I’m sorry. I wish I could say there was.”
