LIV Golf is about to reach a significant milestone, and Bryson DeChambeau has been speaking about the breakaway tour’s progress over the past two years.
DeChambeau has been involved in the league since its early days after agreeing a lucrative $100 million deal in 2022.
The American appears to be benefitting from the LIV schedule after winning his second major championship title in June. DeChambeau has claimed his game has massively improved due to the reduced number of events.
And ahead of LIV Golf Greenbrier, the big-hitting 30-year-old has admitted his delight at the league’s progress over the past 99 rounds of golf.
Bryson DeChambeau amazed by LIV Golf’s progress

DeChambeau initially highlighted his amazement at the progress already made by all those involved with LIV.
“I didn’t know where we would be at 100 rounds,” DeChambeau explained. “But I can tell you the ideas behind it, especially when I was having conversations in 2022. I expected there to be a lot of progress, but the progress has been amazingly awesome.
“From everything we have done to what each team has individually done, the players what they have done to make this league what it is today is quite impressive.”
The two-time US Open winner went on to suggest LIV Golf will soon “explode” and become the dominant force in the golfing world.
“As I look at a five and 10-year vision, I just see this thing exploding here,” DeChambeau added. “When people see the true value of what we are bringing, that intrinsic value is only going to exponentiate over the course of time, which is what I am excited about. I am waiting for that domino effect, for it to start falling.”
LIV’s team aspect has been a critical component since its inception, and DeChambeau is excited to see it develop further.
“Especially the team aspect, it feels like it is some of the highest level golf, and you feel like you have a family out here and some really good friends that can help, I guess you could say, make everybody better,” the 30-year-old added. “That’s what I’m excited to see, how that progresses and transforms. For me to see that potential out there, we just have to get out there and get it. It’s all right there for the taking.”
LIV Golf officials eager to push team aspect of the competition
Team golf has been at the crux of LIV’s identity since its early days in 2022, and it’s a concept officials are continually looking to push.
As talks between the PGA Tour and the PIF rumble on, it’s believed the Saudis are eager for teams to be introduced on golf’s traditional circuits, which is potentially why an agreement is yet to be struck.
The idea of team golf has potential, but given that each of LIV’s teams is in its fledgling stages, the fan bases have yet to emerge properly.
Five or ten years down the line, the Crushers, Cleeks, or Rangegoats could end up having a loyal following, an eventuality that would help make the team aspect more engaging.
