The LPGA Tour is becoming hugely popular with a whole host of megastars including the likes of Nelly Korda and Charley Hull appealing to the masses.

As a result, the women’s game is seemingly on the cusp of a real boom and the LPGA Tour is being urged to create a brand new event which would draw in even more eyeballs.

The LPGA Tour inviting Kai Trump into The ANNIKA field was a true masterstroke, and it has seemingly raised excitement levels around the women’s game.

As the game carries on evolving, and the LPGA Tour continues to generate more and more money, steps could well be taken to create a brand new event in order to showcase what the Tour has to offer.

And Brandel Chamblee has a brilliant idea for a new event which would elevate the women’s game to a new level entirely.

Brandel Chamblee wants a new course designed for showpiece LPGA event

Chamblee is a fierce advocate for the LPGA Tour and often gives his opinion on newsworthy topics surrounding the women’s game.

Would you like to see a ‘Women’s Masters’ at Augusta National?

Charley Hull suggesting that she would love to play Augusta National one day sparked online debate about whether there could be a ‘Women’s Masters’ at some point in the future.

And on Saturday, the chatter once again began online, but this time about a potential new ‘Women’s Players Championship’ held at TPC Sawgrass.

The thought of the LPGA Tour creating a brand new event for the players was well-received on social media platform X.

However, while Chamblee would support the idea of a Women’s Players Championship, he offered his take on where the event should be held.

Chamblee said: Absolutely, but there should be something like the TPC LPGA, designed exclusively for the best women players in the world.

Why Brandel Chamblee once criticized the LPGA Tour

Back in April, Chamblee took to his X account after Mao Saigo won The Chevron Championship in April.

The controversial golf analyst did not like what he saw one little bit at The Club at Carlton Woods.

Players purposely hitting their balls into the grandstands behind the green on the 18th hole was a common theme during the final round.

By aiming for the grandstands, the players eliminated the risk of hitting their balls into the water short of the green, and Chamblee didn’t hold back in his criticism of the ruling.

He said: Hate to see a major end the way Chevron did today. Why is there a grand stand so close to the back edge of a closing hole par 5 that players can hit in two? It allows players to bounce into the grandstands but also forces everyone all week to walk in the same area, no doubt chewing up the spot where players have to chip from.

Ariya Jutanugarn’s ball should have been off the back of the green some 10 yards leaving a basic chip, but instead was in a horrid lie from which she whiffed her chip and then lost in a playoff.
